About AUHSD

The Anderson Union High School District has six schools: Anderson Union High School, West Valley High School, Anderson New Technology High School, North Valley Continuation High School, Oakview Alternative School, and Anderson Community Day School. The District has approximately 1,800 students, grades 9 through 12.

Anderson Union High School is a comprehensive (9-12) high school with an enrollment of approximately 690 students, located on Ferry Street in Anderson. Anderson Union High School provides students the opportunity to excel in three areas: academics, athletics, and activities. Programs are available for every need, including graduation requirements, college prep, advanced placement (AP) and vocational education. Anderson's Renaissance program recognizes students for scholastic achievement, good attendance, positive behavior, participation in school activities and community service.

Established in 1981, West Valley High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving approximately 880 students in grades 9-12. The campus is a modern, clean, and safe facility, with excellent classified, certificated, and district support. West Valley High School serves the communities of Happy Valley and Cottonwood. It is predominantly a rural, agricultural area, geographically isolated from any metropolitan area. The mission of West Valley High School is to provide a safe, engaging, and rigorous learning environment that motivates and empowers students to become responsible adults.

Anderson New Technology High School's Guiding Principles: small school community, world class education. Besides mastering the traditional curriculum, ANTHS students understand process, leadership, innovation, relationships, motivation, follow-through, perspective, and know how to make decisions. This charter school's curriculum is problem- and project-based. Students are prepared to succeed at a university level. The size and the emphasis on teamwork and collaboration help foster a safe and supportive environment.

Anderson Union High School District is fortunate to have an outstanding alternative education program. North Valley High School is the Continuation School for the district. The total school staff is dedicated to helping students achieve at the highest possible level. Recognizing that the comprehensive high school does not meet the needs of all students, North Valley High bridges the gap so that students who might be at-risk are able to complete their high school education successfully. So this may be accomplished, class sizes are smaller, allowing for more individualized instruction and personal attention for each student.

Oakview High School is the independent study school of the district, created for those students who are unable to attend daily classes. Oakview provides an opportunity for students who might otherwise be unsuccessful in a comprehensive high school environment to complete their high school diploma.

Anderson Community Day School serves students that are high at-risk youths grade 9-10.
